Step-by-step help for setting up and running dual enrollment.

Set a term's drop and withdraw deadlines

Who this is for

College Administrator

Students can drop a section cleanly early on, and later only withdraw with a mark on their record. The dates that separate those two outcomes are set per term, so every section in the term follows the same deadlines. For how terms are structured, see Understanding academic terms.

Before you start

Drop and withdraw windows are custom date fields on the term. A section can carry its own drop or withdraw dates, which override the term's for that section.

Steps

  1. Go to College Admin → Academic Terms and click the term's name.
  2. In the custom date fields area, type drop into the Name a custom date field.
  3. Pick the START and END dates for the drop window.
  4. Save the term. The form now lists DROP START and DROP END.
  5. Repeat with the word withdraw to set the withdraw window.

What success looks like

While a window is open, the matching action is offered on the term's registrations; when it closes, that action stops being offered. To remove a window, check its Delete? box and save.

If this doesn't work

  • Drop is still offered after your drop deadline: colleges that send date-based removal codes to their SIS keep Drop available through the term's Delete Period, so the right code goes out. See Set Delete Period dates on an academic term.

See Understanding academic terms for how all the date windows fit together. Need help? Contact the Help Desk.
