Who this is for
College Workflow Reviewer, College Administrator
Registration History lists every step a workflow has been through, but the step name alone does not say how it ended. The Outcome column carries that result, and a few of its values mean something less obvious than they look. Read on for what each one records.
Why this matters
A registration's history shows every workflow step that has run, who acted, and when. The Outcome column also shows what happened at each step: whether a parent approved or declined consent, how an approval was decided, or whether a step was skipped. You can answer "what did the parent choose?" or "who declined this?" directly from the history, without contacting support.
How it works
- Where you'll see it: open a registration and choose [show history] (or the History option on the registration's menu). The same columns appear in the history of other workflow types: course reviews, applications, and an instructor’s credential review, which you reach from the options menu on the instructor’s row on the Instructors page.
- The columns: Step (the step's name; this column was previously headed "Action"), Outcome, Role (who the step belonged to), Name (who acted), Comment, and Date/Time.
- It covers your existing history: outcomes appear for steps completed before this column existed, not just new activity.

What the outcome labels mean
- Approved / Declined: a decision step (parent consent, an administrator's approval) was decided, and this is the decision.
- Completed: the step finished normally and has no approve/decline decision to report.
- Skipped: the workflow moved past the step without it being performed.
- Error: the step ran into a problem when it executed.
- Active: the step ran but is still open. For example, a document was uploaded but the step wasn't finished, or someone chose "Decide Later."
- A more specific label: some steps report their own outcome in plain words, such as "Student More Info" when a reviewer sent a registration back to the student for more information.
- Blank: the step has no meaningful outcome to report (for example, a purely informational step). A blank cell is normal, not a problem.
About the Role column
Some rows show System in the Role column with a short explanation when you hover: these are automated steps the DualEnroll platform performs itself (for example, waiting for a group of steps to finish) rather than actions taken by a person.
Common scenarios
- "Did the parent approve or decline?": find the parent consent step in the history; the Outcome column reads Approved or Declined.
- An older step shows "Completed" where you expected Approved or Declined: a small number of older or college-specific steps record their result in a way that can't be reported as a specific decision, so they fall back to "Completed." If you need the actual decision for one of these, contact the Help Desk.
- Several rows show "System" and "Completed": these are the platform's own bookkeeping steps finishing; no one at your college needs to act on them.
