Who this is for
Parent
Before your student can enrol in a college course, the college needs your permission. DualEnroll emails you a link to a short consent step where you say yes or no and sign your name. You do not need an account, and it takes a couple of minutes.
Before you start
You'll usually receive an email from DualEnroll with a link to the consent step. Open that link to get started. You don't need a DualEnroll account to complete consent from the email link. You can also reach the step while signed in, if you have an account.
Steps
Warning: Declining stops the registration. DualEnroll asks you to confirm before it records your refusal, and undoing a decline means contacting your student's college.
- Open the parent consent step from your email link (or from your DualEnroll to-do list if you're signed in).
- Read the information about your student and the courses they're enrolling in.
- Under “Do you provide consent?”, select “Yes, I provide consent” (green). If your college allows declining, a second button, “No, I do not provide consent” (red), appears beside it.
- If you chose Yes, type your full legal name in the Electronic Signature field that appears. This is your signature affirming consent.
- Select Complete Step. The button turns on only once you've made a choice (and, if you chose Yes, entered your name).
If your college offers a Spanish option, use the “Mostrar en Español” toggle to switch the page to Spanish, including the consent question, buttons, and signature label. Use “Show in English” to switch back.
What success looks like
Once you complete the step, you'll see confirmation that your consent has been recorded, and your student's registration moves on to its next step. If you chose to decline, the registration will not proceed. Contact your student's college if that wasn't what you intended.
If this doesn't work
If you can't open the link or complete the step, contact your student's college dual enrollment office.
