Requires the payee filter, set up by your college
Some courses are paid for by your high school and some you pay for yourself, and the Course Finder shows both together. The Paid by my high school filter narrows the list to the ones your school has agreed to cover, so you can see what is free to you.
Before you start
- You are signed in to DualEnroll and your record shows your high school.
- Your college uses this feature. If you do not see a BY PAYEE section in the Course Finder, your college has not set it up, and you can ask your counselor who pays for a course.
Steps
- Open the Course Finder.
- In the filter sidebar, scroll to the BY PAYEE section at the bottom.
- Check Paid by my high school. The course list narrows on its own, with no separate search button to press.
- Add any other filters you want, such as term or location. They all work together, so you can look for courses your school pays for that are also taught online.
- Uncheck the box to see the full course list again.
What success looks like
The course list shows only courses your high school has agreed to pay tuition for. Opening one of those courses shows a green Paid by [your high school] banner at the top of the page, so you can confirm it before you register.
An agreement covers a whole course, so it applies to every section of it, whether the class is taught at your high school, on campus, or online.
Note: This filter is about who pays, not about what you are allowed to take. You can still register for a course your high school does not cover. You would be responsible for the tuition yourself, so it is worth asking your counselor first.
If this doesn't work
- The checkbox clears when you move to another page. That is how this filter behaves. Unlike the term and keyword filters, it does not remember your choice, so re-check it after you navigate. Nothing is wrong.
- You get an empty list. Either your high school has not agreed to pay for any courses that match your other filters, or your high school is not one of this college's partner schools. Clear your other filters first to check, then ask your counselor.
- Checking the box seems to change nothing. If your record does not have a high school on file, the filter has nothing to match you against and leaves the list as it is. Ask your counselor or the Help Desk to confirm your high school is set on your account.
- You see no BY PAYEE section at all. Your college either has not turned this on or has chosen to hide it. Your counselor can tell you which courses your school covers.
Ask your high school counselor first, since they will know your school's list. If something looks wrong with your account, contact the DualEnroll Help Desk.
