Step-by-step help for setting up and running dual enrollment.

Create your DualEnroll account

Who this is for

Student

Your college invites you to DualEnroll by email, and that invitation is what starts your account. Creating it sets your username and password and connects you to your high school, so the courses you can actually take show up in the Course Finder.

Before you start

You need a working email address. It is required, it becomes your login, and it is where your account-confirmation message is sent. Use your own address, not a parent's.

Your high school also has to appear in the High School list on the sign-up form. Only the high schools your college has opened to student self-registration are listed. If yours is missing, contact the college running your dual enrollment program instead of signing up.

Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

Steps

  1. On your college's DualEnroll sign-in page, select Create My DualEnroll Account (some colleges label this Create a Student Account). The New Student DualEnroll Account Creation form opens.
  2. Select your High School. You can type in the box to search the list.
  3. Enter a password under Create Password, then the same one under Retype Password. Your college's password rules are shown just above the field.
  4. Enter your legal Student First Name and Student Last Name, and your Date of Birth. Middle name is optional.
  5. Enter your Student Email. Some colleges also ask you to retype it under Verify Email.
  6. Optionally enter your Student Cell Phone, and retype it under Verify Cell Phone if your college asks for that. You can leave the number blank. If you provide one, you are agreeing to receive text notifications, and DualEnroll texts you an activation code as well as emailing you.
  7. Complete the reCAPTCHA check, then select Create Account. Some colleges give this button a different label.

Confirm your account

Creating the account is not the last step. Which route you take depends on whether you entered a cell phone number.

  • If you left the cell phone blank, DualEnroll emails the address you entered. Open the message, then select Confirm my account on the page it opens. Following the link on its own does not finish the job.
  • If you entered a cell phone number, you go straight to a confirmation form. Enter your cell phone number and the code that was texted to you. The confirmation email is sent as well, so you can use the emailed link instead if the text does not reach you.

What success looks like

Your account is confirmed, you are signed in, and you can start your application. From now on you sign in with your email address. There is no separate username to remember.

If this doesn't work

  • There is no button to create an account. Not every college offers student sign-up. Some use their own single sign-on instead, and some have not opened self-registration to any high school. Contact the college running your dual enrollment program and they can set your account up for you.
  • "has already been taken" appears next to your email or cell phone. That address or number is already on a DualEnroll account, commonly because a parent used the same one, because you already have an account with another college, or because your school already created a record for you. One DualEnroll account works with every DualEnroll college, so do not create a second one. Use Forgot your username or password? on the sign-in page (see Sign in to DualEnroll), or contact the college running your dual enrollment program.
  • "invalid email" or "invalid cell phone". An email address needs an @ with a dot after it. A cell phone number needs ten digits, for example 703-241-1212. Numbers whose middle three digits are 555 are refused, including the sample number printed on the form itself, so enter your real number.
  • "doesn't match". Two entries that have to be identical are not: the two passwords, or an email or cell phone and its verify field. Retype them.
  • Your high school is not in the list. Your college has not opened self-registration to your school. Contact the college running your dual enrollment program and they can set your account up for you.
  • The confirmation email never arrives. Check your spam and junk folders for a message from noreply@dualenroll.com. If it is not there, ask the college running your dual enrollment program to send a new one.
  • The activation text never arrives. Use the confirmation email instead. It is sent to your email address at the same time, whether or not you gave a cell phone number.
  • You closed the code form before entering your code. On the sign-in page, select Need to enter your text confirmation code? Then enter your cell phone number and the code from the text.
  • "This confirmation link has expired or is invalid." Confirmation links do not expire, so this usually means the link was already used, or your email program cut it short. Try opening the original message again; if that fails, ask for a new confirmation message.

Contact the college running your dual enrollment program, or the DualEnroll Help Desk. Once your account is set up, see Sign in to DualEnroll
